Exercise

Physiotherapist designed movement and exercise for all

Our exercise classes are designed and overseen by physiotherapists. They are suitable for all older adults, regardless of their current level of fitness or age. Classes are held in various care homes and community halls within the Worthing area and people are welcome to stay seated throughout.

Classes

We feel passionately that any movement, is better than no movement and we support you to work at your own level with gentle motivation but no pressure.

All our exercises can be adapted for people who are happier to be seated when exercising and are also suitable for people with balance problems. They are also ideal for people who are new to exercise or those recovering from a period of illness.

Our classes have been designed to benefit your whole body. We work from head to toe using specific exercises and activities to help strengthen your muscles, improve your joint flexibility and work on your balance. The class can also help you feel fitter and healthier so that you have more energy and stamina to do the things you enjoy.

Our groups are restricted to a maximum of 10 people to enable us to provide support and encouragement to every member of the group. In our experience, the small group environment can also help people feel more comfortable and relaxed.

Our classes are offered in 6-week blocks, with an option to continue.

We do not offer drop in sessions as all group members are required to complete a short health questionnaire / balance assessment during the first session. This is to ensure that it is safe and appropriate for you to exercise. Please note, we may also need permission from your doctor if you have multiple health issues.

We look forward to meeting you and helping you to “get moving” more.
